Letter to the Day You Left

 Dear Messy,

I remember the way you walked away.

Not with a storm, not with slamming doors or raised voices,

But with quite the kind that doesn't echo back.

You left on a normal day.
No warning, no goodbyes worthy of the love we once promised.

You just... stopped showing up.

And somehow, that hurt more than all the dramatic endings I had prepared myself for.

I kept thinking it was just a pause.
That you'd come back.
That silence is a presence of its own.

But days turned into weeks.
And your absence stopped feeling temporary.
It became a presence of its own.

I still have your last message saved.
Not because it was special, but because it was the last.

And some part of me didn't want to believe
that our love story would end on a sentence that short.

I don't hate you.
I just miss who we were
Before we both learned how to live without each other.
